What happens if you go over?
On paid plans, nothing breaks and nothing is billed. Once you pass your included volume we keep serving requests at a reduced rate of 10 per minute instead of returning errors. There is no overage charge and no surprise invoice - the only cost of exceeding a plan is slower service until you upgrade or the month rolls over. The Free plan stops at 500 verifications and resumes when the month rolls over.

Which states are covered?
Coverage varies by profession: most professions are covered in a handful of states, not all 50. Check your exact states and professions on the coverage page before you sign up.

Rosters are mirrored from official state board files, each on its board's own publishing schedule: about four in five sources are re-checked every day, and the rest weekly or monthly because their boards publish no more often than that. Every answer carries the date its source was last refreshed.
Is this a consumer report? Can I use it for employment decisions?
No. License Verify is not a consumer reporting agency and its responses are not consumer reports under the FCRA. Do not use it to decide employment, credit, insurance, housing, or licensing eligibility. Credentialing, payer enrollment, network participation, and compliance monitoring are permitted.

Do you have SOC 2?
No. License Verify does not have a SOC 2 report. API keys are stored as SHA-256 hashes, all traffic is served over TLS, webhooks are HMAC-signed, and every verification request is recorded in an append-only log.
